lyrics

I was up, reading Matthew 9
meditating how the Son of Man shined
through the clouds
In my dreams, I traveled back in time
and ended up in the body of the guy
who was paralyzed,
the teachers were all frowns.
He told them "why do you entertain
evil thoughts in your heart?", he said
he went close, looked me right in the eye
calmly cried "for you I'd raise the Dead"

You were up, talking to your dad
your mouth was like a rubber band
that snapped back
it was loud
and you thought that maybe this was it
said sorry for your sins
that were like wall cracks
'til your castle crumbled to the ground.
And then your life flashed
before your eyes
you saw me down by the tidal wave
you took me by the hand,
and then we ran
up the mountain, every step we said

for you i'd raise the dead

I don't know what I could have without you
you heard me say
I waded in the river
'til I shivered for you to make
sense of all of this

We were up looking at the sky
the moon was like the Eucharist in blue light
and the hum of God was all around
then we lay down, hidden in the grass
waiting for teardrops from the clouds
that gathered around us,
and you were sad
but don't be sad
for you i'd raise the dead
